The setting sun reflects of a comet near 555.5km from Sydney. 18-9-1983. A level crossing at Boppy Mountain - while the mountain itself plays host to a couple of radio relays. 18-9-1983. The rays of the setting sun glint of the comet near Cobar. 17-9-1983. At Cobar, the locals inspect the first passenger train there for many years. 11:10am 18-9-1983. The Comet passes 3 oil tankers in a private siding at the east end of Cobar yard. 11:43am 18-9-1983. The Comet at Elura Mine. 18-9-1983. On the Elura Branch - the Red Comet contrasts with the dry soil. 9:06am 18-9-1983. At Elura Mine, the comet rests having disgorged it's load of eager buffs. 9:23am 18-9-1983. In order to change ends on the train, DP101 had to proceed through the loading bay at Elura Mine. 18-9-1983. Heading back to hitch up to the train again - the guard hangs of the front of DP101. 18-9-1983. Past the loading bay at Elura Mine. 10:03am 18-9-1983. Heading back for Cobar on the Elura Branch, the green grass uncharacteristic for the area shows up the red colours of the Comet. 18-9-1983. Just North of Elura Junction and heading towards a landmark signal - one of the few curves in the area through a cutting. 10:45am 18-9-1983. The Comet approaches a Landmark Signal for the junction at Cobar. 18-9-1983. A level crossing just north of Elura Junction. 10:46am 18-9-1983. At Elura Junction ground frame - the Comet pauses for a photo stop. 10:50am 18-9-1983. No platform or station buildings remain - but the Comet pauses for a photo stop at the site of Muriel Tank station. 12:50pm 18-9-1983. The comet passes through Nevertire. 18-9-1983. The Junction of the (then) main line to Bourke and the branch to Cobar. The designation of these lines was reversed a few months later. Nyngan Junction signal box. The photo was taken from the gantry for the Up Home Signal on the Bourke Line. The Comet is entering from the Cobar line. 2:15pm 18-9-1983. The Comet stops again at Trangie. 5:58pm 18-9-1983. The car shown in this picture was the sole trailer car in the fleet as evidenced by the smaller roof pod. March 1985. CPH4 is leading a set of 3 such cars on the Saturday afternoon Richmond to Sydney Terminal service. This service was not listed in public timetables beyond Seven Hills although it carried passengers through to Sydney. May 1984. A big lash up of CPH railmotors form the NSW Rail Transport Museum's New Year's Eve Mystery Tour in 1984. This eventuated as being the delivery run of this vehicles to the Rail Motor Preservation Society in Paterson. 31/01/1984. It will go No.2 end first back towards Wollongong. 18 Sep 2003 4510 and 4504 (candy) take a wheat train from Gunnedah through Werris Creek. 24 wagons and a guard's van form this consist. 45s were always an umpopular engine and seeing two of them together is very unusual. 21/01/1984 7:28pm 48111 takes a modified string of Comeng Driving Trailers into Wollongong Station.
